Privacy policy

This explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain English, because a policy nobody can read is not really consent to anything.

The short version: we collect an email address if you give us one, we use it to tell you about verdIQore, we do not sell it to anyone, and you can have it deleted whenever you like.

Who we are

This site is operated by verdIQore. For anything in this policy, use our contact form. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect, and why

If you join the waitlist

Your email address, and anything else you choose to add such as your first name, country, how experienced you are and what you plan to grow. Only the email address is required.

We use it to tell you when verdIQore is available and to send occasional updates about the product. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, and which you can withdraw at any time.

If you contact us

Whatever you put in the message, plus your email address so we can reply. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation.

If you talk to vIQ on this site

The messages you send. They are used to answer your question, and to work out which questions come up often enough to deserve a proper page. If you ask to be contacted, we keep the details you give us for that purpose. Please do not put anything sensitive into a chat box, here or anywhere else.

Automatically

Our hosting provider processes standard request information, including your IP address, for security and to make the site work. We do not build a profile from it.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
• We do not track you across other websites.
• We do not use advertising cookies or advertising pixels.
• We do not make automated decisions that have a legal effect on you.

At the time of writing, this site runs no analytics at all. If that changes, we will ask first. See the cookie policy.

Who else sees it

Only the services we need to run the site, and only for that purpose. Each is bound to protect it and may not use it for their own ends:

• Our hosting and database provider, to serve the site and store your submission.
• Our email provider, to deliver messages you have asked for.
• Our AI provider, to generate vIQ's replies. Chat messages are processed to produce an answer.

Some of these operate outside your country. Where information moves across borders we rely on the safeguards in those providers' terms, including standard contractual clauses where they apply.

How long we keep it

• Waitlist details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them, or until the waitlist is closed and everyone on it has been contacted.
• Enquiries: up to two years after the conversation ends, so we have context if you write again.
• Chat messages: up to twelve months.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete it
• Stop using it, or restrict how we use it
• Send it to you or someone else in a portable format

You can withdraw consent at any time, either by using the unsubscribe link in any email, or through our contact form. Withdrawing does not undo anything done before you withdrew, but it stops everything after.

Send the request through our contact form. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are not happy

Please tell us first, so we get a chance to put it right. You also have the right to complain to a data protection regulator: in the UK the Information Commissioner's Office, in Canada the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, or the equivalent authority where you live.

Children

This site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us something, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant and we hold your email address, we will tell you directly rather than hoping you notice.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the law of British Columbia, Canada.
